Can't install theme – permissions problem

    Hi

    I am having trouble installing a theme I purchased, and would appreciate some help. When I go to install the .zip file, here’s the message I get:

    Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/2013/11. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

    I’m using a Xampp installation to build and test the site first, and I figured it’s something to do with permissions on the Xampp folder or perhaps the htdocs folder where the wordpress installation is stored. Anyway, I figured I’d just create a folder under wp-content/uploads/2013/11. Now I get this message:

    The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads/2013/11.

    Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how and where I change permissions?

    OK, issue resolved … just had to change the permissions on a myriad of folders in the Xampp root folder. My fingers hurt but it works now.
