Support » Plugin: Lightweight Widget Area Plugin - Content Aware Sidebars » Side bars completely not showing up

I had a sidebar on one of my pages but after the recent update to this plugin, they don’t show up at all anymore. I’ve tried trashing the old sidebar and re-creating a new one but they just don’t seem to show up any where.

The settings for this side are ‘Singular&Archive’; ‘Replace, Main Sidebar’; ‘Top’.

Did you upgrade from version 1.3.4 or from an earlier version (if yes, which)?

What are your content settings for the sidebar in question? I.e. what content have you selected the sidebar to be displayed with.

I am having the same problem. They were showing up, but then suddenly they were not. I uninstalled and re-installed Content Aware Sidebar, and reentered all the information I needed for each separate page, but nothing I have tried seems to work.
The site is still under construction, but I have one page public so others can see the problem.

I’m also having this trouble. They were there all morning and now they’re not appearing.

    @kslong

I am met with a 404 error when visiting the link you provided.

It is indeed very strange that some sidebars disappear after some time. Does this happen to all sidebars, or just a couple?
Do the missing sidebars appear in the Widgets admin screen?
Did you activate/deactivate any other plugins right before the problem started to occur?

It would be very helpful if you can state what versions of PHP and MySQL you use. Thanks.

    Joachim,
    My responses are indented below.

I am met with a 404 error when visiting the link you provided.
It works for me, but maybe since it is not public. Here is a public link: http://gator3315.hostgator.com/~kslong/solutions-2/

It happens with all sidebars. Since it occurred, I cannot see any sidebars.

Do the missing sidebars appear in the Widgets admin screen?
Yes, they all appear in the widgets admin screen.

Did you activate/deactivate any other plugins right before the problem started to occur?
I deactivated plugins added after Content Aware Sidebars, but it made no difference so I reactivated them.

It would be very helpful if you can state what versions of PHP and MySQL you use.
    Site is hosted by HostGator:
    PHP version 5.2.17
    MySQL version 5.5.33-31.1

Oops, it looks like my indentations don’t appear! I hope you can discern my responses!

    No worries about the indentation.

There should be no problem with your setup, and the sidebars seems to be registered correctly in WordPress.

Do the sidebars have any widgets in them?

If you create a new sidebar with the following settings:
    Content: Search results
    Exposure: Singular & archive
Handle: Replace [a sidebar present on the search results page]

Will the problem occur for this sidebar also?

    Joachim,
In response to your questions, please see your questions and my responses below:

Do the sidebars have any widgets in them?
    Yes, all of them do.

If you create a new sidebar with the following settings:
    Content: Search results
    Exposure: Singular & archive
Handle: Replace [a sidebar present on the search results page]

Will the problem occur for this sidebar also?
Yes. I followed your suggestion above and there was no change. No sidebars were visible on the webpage, but were visible on the edit page. When I first began using Content Aware Sidebars, they worked perfectly with a variety of widgets. NOw, none of them works.

    Joachim,
Here is a link to the search results:

    Joachim,
The message above takes you to a photo of the results. The link below takes you to a live page with search results:

I hope all this is helpful in resolving this problem!

I think you have tried to link to a local installation of your site 🙂

Unfortunately images will not help me further, but if you can create a admin user for me, jv[at]intox.dk, on your site, I will take a look when I get time.

OK, what email should I send the password to?

You can send the password to jv[at]intox.dk, thanks.
