• I need to disable the comments from a single post. How do I do that? I read a previous post on this topice mentioning to go to “screen options” in the dashboard and clicking on “discussion”. However, if I do this then do I need to do this for every single post from then on? That’s what it sounded like. Please reply back asap since I need to post this by tomorrow.

I look forward to a reply. Please be detailed as I’m not very technical. Thanks.

Where do I edit? I don’t see anything that tells me how to edit the comments. Please be specific! Thank you.

    Hi:

WordPress allows you to enable/disable comments on a page/post basis. If you want to disable comments on a single post you need to go into the editor for that post. ( Posts > All Posts > Edit ).

When you are in the editor you can scroll down the page and see a “Discussions” section. In this section you can disable comments and disable trackbacks. If you don’t see a option box called discussions navigate to the top right of the page and click on the tab called “Screen Options.

You should see a bunch of check boxes, Check the one labeled Discussion which will than show you the Discussion option controls.

If you disable the comments on this post it won’t impact any others.

    Hope this helps.

Couldn’t you just go to All Posts, then “Quick Edit” on the post you want to disable comments on, and uncheck the “Allow Comments” box?

Matthew and Sue I will try both of those when I post it tomorrow. Thank you so much, I’m hopeful one of these will work. The Quick Edit one I read on a previous forum that it didn’t work although I’m not sure why. So I will try both of these. Thank you.
