Unable to make changes in CSS

Hello I have installed Awesome Portfolio version 1.7.4 with wordpress 3.7.1. My problem is that i m trying to make changes in styling as per your documentation but it shows no results . I m making changes in my theme’s CSS . Please help me 🙁
