Hi guys… here is my problem. I recently upgraded to 2.5 and I’m 99% sure that is when my problem started. After I installed, my “pages” stopped working. They looked like this..
    http://www.goatinatree.com/index.php/about-me/

The custom Permalink sting I used was…
    /index.php/%postname%/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/

But when I change the link to one of the pre-configured ones, it works fine. I am not the only one with this problem. I have a client who runs a blog on my server and he is also having this problem. He doesnt care what the links are, so he just changed it to a pre-configured sting. However, I have a couple google searches that people have found and reached my blog and i’d kind of like to keep it that way.
    This is the Search… http://tinyurl.com/36dco5

The second result is me and a number of people have found that useful and I really would rather not break that link. *shrugs*

    Any help is MUCH appreciated.

Clearly something changed with the rewrite code in 2.5 – I have a similar problem, but I’m using a plugin for the custom permalink generation, and the author has posted a bugfix for the URL problem with pages –

Maybe it would be helpful for you to look at his code – it’s here –

I haven’t upgraded to the latest version,
but now I am even scared to upgrade. I mean,
if permalinks are changed, then Google will drop all my pages from their index (because they would point to 404). So that’s a very dangerous situation that could ruin people’s businesses. This an extremely serious flaw, which brings me to the next question:

My links are date and time based (not really custom, I just selected this preconfigured option):

If I upgrade to WP 2.5, will this pre-configured option disapear?
