You see, we were JUST a message board site for the past 8 years. Decided to start a news site to branch out, and offer news for our forum members.
But obviously our focus is still greatly on the forums, so we disabled comments and recommend people post responses on the forums. Not sure if this is the best approach, but we'll see how it goes!
It'd be cool to share our forum member database with WordPress, but I'm not sure how to do that.

are you able to get those same people making the 1.6 million posts to also view the current new static site. Are you tracking the page views, etc?

Posted 4 weeks ago #I like your site as it is. I personally would not change the font size. One of the things I have noticed is more and more sites are using smaller font to get more on the home page (I click back and find the info on another page). I think its okay to send them to another page. Your site looks good as is although it is a little crowded. It will look more crowded if you change the font size.
Just one thing...you have several ways to get to the same story...why not use the sidebar to show other articles? Maybe earlier articles. Do people really need two different ways to get to the same article? Just a thought.....

@flsunshine - we have the headlines on the side because I don't want people to miss out on the non-movie stories. If that makes sense. Maybe there's a better way to do it though.

I'm always looking for a good book to read and was hoping there would be links to reviews of geek-type books (sci-fi, horror, paranormal, you know what I mean). The book forum doesn't really fill that need, although I appreciate it for what it is.

Well here's a brief history...
We started out in 1999 as the message board community (using InfoPop's UBB software) for the Star Wars news site EpisodeII.com. The news site closed after the movie came out in 2002, but Nightly.Net continued on and we broadened our interests to include other movies, TV, comics, etc., etc. We switched to IPB in April 2006. Then in April 2008 we started the news site again using WordPress.
