I am having a very unusual situation where Global Translator is not working in IE but does work in Firefox (Mozilla) and Netscape (GRE). What makes this more confusing is that it appeared to be working fine after upgrading to WP 2.5 just days ago.

Actually, Global Translator appears to be doing what it is supposed to be doing, but when the translated page is about to appear, I receive the error message. “Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site. Operation aborted.”

Any ideas? Is this an upgrade issue? Is there another translator that could be considered?

This is my first post to the forums. Thank you for your input.

Last evening after posting I spent hours culling through tech forums and read what I felt to be endless articles on DOM and window onload and javascript. While searching and comparing to the code on my site, I realized the problem most likely existed with one of two plugins that I was using. I simply deactivated the plugins and found the error stopped. Then I narrowed it down to the call for the external javascript that was being used for the ShareThis plugin. I ended up replacing the ShareThis plugin with Bookmarkify and this morning everything is working as it should.

This seems to be a translation engine issue. It doesn’t seem to depend on GT
