• Hi:
I have a blog that is receiving spam all the time, apparently from a robot because the names of the writer are funny and is like a loop in the messages check this picture . I have installed a plugin to force people to enter a Captcha in comments, and this thing is still there.
I do not know if I have and internal script generating this comments or what, any way the comments are not approved automatically but the moderation is a problem when there is to much spam.
    Thank you in advanced.

  • Are you using any anti-spam plugin like Akismet?

    Hi:
Ok, thank you… the true is that I do not really like it at all… but if there is no other choice I will try it.
I do not like it because, I do not have control over what it does, I do not really know what is going on with my spam.
I prefer things that I can configure my self and get the results that I want, not the results that someone think that I want to get.
    Thank you.

Make sure your website is not compromised …
If you’ve enabled a captcha but still receive spam … then most probably your website is infected… you could install a log plugin that will tell you the ip from which the comments were made …
This is good to use because if the robot uses only 1 ip you can black-list it.
