Try the 2.30 beta version.
Lester,
Your plug-ins look great, but when I try to follow the instructions, I can't even get to the WP-Admin section. Is it my hosting service? There is no "admin" button in the interface, and I looked into the folder on the FTP side, and there's no way to set the email options. I even signed on to my site as "admin" and there just isn't an option for WP-Admin.
Okay, maybe I'm dumb, but I'm definitely missiong something here.
Can you help?
There should be an email tab when you login to WP admin panel
There isn't. Email is handled through the server side (Horde), not in WP.
If you give me an address, I can send a screen capture.
Brian: Go to http://example.com/whatever/wp-admin. That's your WordPress admin page. Activate the plugin and such there. Basically, just add "wp-admin" onto your page's URL.
Hi Otto,
Thanks for your response. I understand how to log into my WP account, but there isn't any email tab there. The closest thing to it is under the users section, where there's an input box for the email account name a specific user. But there isn't an email tab or any way to configure email.
All email issues are handled through the control panel for the hosting account. That's where I read the email, configure forwarding addresses, auto responses, etc. None of that is possible through my version of WP that I get through my host.
Brian
What is the path you have uploaded wp-email to?
I don't know the path, but I can try asking my host company for it. Below is the URL if that's any help. Should I ask my hosting company?
let me rephrase it, where you uploaded WP-Email to?
Oh, sorry, my mistake entirely.
Here's the path:
/public_html/wp-content/plugins/
My server doesn't have my account setup in it's own named folder like many/most others (i.e. writertotheworld)
so is wp-email in its own folder? is it nested?
Yes, it's in its own folder. I haven't opened it, but I assume all is as it should be, and I wouldn't know the difference anyway.
The path should be /wp-content/plugins/wp-email/ and that should not be any other folder inside there except images
The path is correct. Just as you said it should be.
Deactivate and activate the plugin again
I figured out the problem. Rather than enshrine myself in the "Hallowed Hall of Half-Wits," I'd rather not tell you what I did wrong.
Dude, this is great! I love it. Do all your plug-ins work like this?
I'm still in beta stage, working out a lot of kinks, but as soon as I'm done, I will make a donation. Please let me know what's appropriate.
My Deepest Thanks,
Brian
Hi Brian, thanks for the donations =) If you like, my paypal email is lesterchan AT gmail DOT com =)
