I am at a complete loss! I tried to update my WordPress to the newest version & now all my posts…everything… are GONE! I am not at all tech-savvy. So, I don’t even know what I was thinking deleting things. But, initially, I think that I deleted my wp-configure. Which I think is a no-no. So, I tried to re-install my backed up database…but, it’s not working. And, now, it seems I have re-installed a NEW blog over top of my old one. I don’t even know if any of this makes sense.

I am willing to do whatever to get my posts back! If someone would PLEASE help me. I would appreciate it more than you know. Also, NOW my wp-admin for my NEW blog is giving me an error when I try to login. What a mess.

I think that if you e-mail( submit ticket) your host support and tell them that you installed wp 2.5 and went wrong but you have a back of your wp 2.3.3 database they should be able to help you and restore it for you. Hang in there.

I’ve had a similar issue, except the post count, users, and everything related to the database is there but not showing up. I think it has to do with permalinks but I’m not sure. In the admin login, it shows the # of posts and comments etc, but I can’t actually see them or access them. It’s frustrating.

Ouch, this is really painful, indeed deleting wp-config was a no-no.

Do you have a backup of your files? or maybe your hosts has it?

I did submit a ticket to my host to see if they could help me. But, now I am having trouble accessing my wp-admin page at all. When I go to my login (emilyabigail.com/wp-admin), I see this error message:

“Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_register_sidebar_widget() in /mnt/w0209/d31/s32/b0234728/www/wp-admin/includes/dashboard.php on line 31”

Not sure what this is all about. Anyone?

Thanks for all your help so far!
