    Hi,

I’ve done everything required to create my podcast series, but when I try submitting to iTunes it comes up with the error message:

We had difficulty reading this feed. Bad result code: 404.

I have read a previous message that relates to this but the solution they used doesn’t work for me.

I have been advised that I need to check the feed using a website called http://feedvalidator.org/ which checks your feed to see if it is ok.

There are a number of errors that come up when I check the feed – our series feed is http://yourridingsuccess.com/blog/?feed=podcast&podcast_series=yrstv and I followed all of the instructions to create the podcast… the podcast episodes appear to be working on the website but the feed validator website comes up with a number of errors!

I have no idea what we are doing wrong!

    Any input would be appreciated!

The main reason that your feed will be returning a 404 error is most likely that you have no blog posts on your site. This is a bug in WordPress that I am trying to work around in SSP, but I haven’t been able to do it yet.

Aside from that, the only error in your feed is that the iTunes subtitle field has too many characters. It looks like this is due to the fact that iTunes recently changed that requirements for that field, so I have not yet catered for it in this plugin. I will release an update for that in time, but once you have the 404 error fixed I don’t think it will stop iTunes accepting the feed.

Thanks for that Hugh… however we have 3 years of blog posts on the website… do we need to do it through some other method than just posting them through wordpress?

I wasn’t so worried about the extra characters in the subtitle field – that’s easily fixed…
