My header does not show in IE 8.

IE 9 users complain of postage stamp size and missing images in the galleries and menus displayed as if an unordered list (I have seen this view when playing with IE 8 compatibility mode, but cant recreate it again now).

Deactivating all plugins did not resolve this.

Switching to Twenty Thirteen theme does not resolve the gallery issue. Our header image is not displayed in this theme.

    Placing <meta http-equiv=”X-UA-Compatible” content=”IE=EmulateIE7″ /> in header.php just below ?><!DOCTYPE html> seems to resolve only for IE8.

Disabling Jetpack makes the gallery not load completely (missing images) even in Chrome. But perhaps because it was built with the Jetpack Gallery?

Added Google analytics script in header.php <head> area. Removing it does not change the issues noted.
