Hello Krishna
Still can’t login to WordPress to access my back office to make changes to my website
Figured out how to get into cpanel an deleted all plugins except one call index.php – (Should I delete this one too?)
tryed to login and get taken here:
http://manifestationsworldwidemissions.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fmanifestationsworldwidemissions.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1
Then get the following error code:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare check_password_reset_key() (previously declared in /home/manifest/public_html/wp-login.php:281) in /home/manifest/public_html/wp-includes/user.php on line 1642
Anyone have any suggestions? Or know if WordPress will issue a fix…
My site was set to go live in 2days
Thanks
Could you upgrade WordPress to version 3.7 or are you still running WordPress 3.6.1? Try to upgrade and then try to login.

If you still cannot, try resetting PW:

Hello Krishna,
I just followed the steps and removed all the database tables figuring that I would just rebuilt the site from the beginning. I was successful in doing this. But now I do not understand why I still get the same error message – I attempt to login and can’t –
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare check_password_reset_key() (previously declared in /home/manifest/public_html/wp-login.php:281) in /home/manifest/public_html/wp-includes/user.php on line 1642
I just don’t understand it. Is wordpress coming out with a fix?
Its now 1:07 am – need to get some sleep
Thanks for your support.
Have you tried resetting your password?

Are you still running version 3.6.1 ?

Yes Krishna – I’ve tried to reset password and did …. I also when into cpanel -deleted all previous WP Files and setup a new WP account under the name Manifestationsworldwidemissions.com Got a new username and password. So I’m assuming that I am now using WP 3.7 with a 2013 theme -I go to click login at the bottom of the page and Guess what?
I still get the same error code:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare check_password_reset_key() (previously declared in /home/manifest/public_html/wp-login.php:281) in /home/manifest/public_html/wp-includes/user.php on line 1642
I don’t understand this – It seems as if the error is following the site’s name. (I know that sounds crazy) If all these steps are completed is there a fix that WP has to complete with 3.7 otherwise I will not be able to get into the site?
I do thank you for you help

Hello Krishna
This is strange…. In the confirmation email that I received last night when I set up the new WP site I was given a username and password. (As i mentioned in my previous email I got a new username and password)
I just when to WP login and the don’t recognize my username when I test this even thought they sent me a confirmation email verifying my username and password
There is something basically wrong with your installation, for instance you say that you updated WordPress to version 3.7 but your site still runs the previous version.

Hello Krishna
Thanks for all of your help….. I’m back in the site!
@rico52
How did you fix the issue as I am also having the same issue for last 3 days π
I had the same error after upgrading to 3.7.1 … the public-facing site was OK but I could not log in to wp-admin. I was getting the White Screen of Death.
I tried disabling the theme, as well as all plugins, removing white space from functions.php … but to no avail.
I enabled logging in wp-admin and got the same error as rico52: “Fatal error: Cannot redeclare check_password_reset_key() …”
To me, this says another PHP file in the WP core (somewhere) had already defined this function. I removed this function from user.php and it fixed the problem straight away.
I hope this helps! Remember logging is your friend.
