I’ve been using your plugin for a few months and I was really happy from what it did! I loved it’s functionality, my visitors did too.

However, as I tried to update it to the newest version, my whole site crashed and what I got was the following message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home4/rapppman/public_html/wp-content/plugins/bwp-recent-comments/includes/class-bwp-recent-comments.php on line 427

I’m very sad to see this happen and I had to choose another plugin, similar to yours. Due to the awesome functions you have, I’d love to get back to you, if this issue is resolved.

You guys have a great plugin. Please, try fixing it, or at least tell me how can I do it.

    Thank you.

    Same for me!

Yes, same here, site is down, frontend and backend displaying the same error as above.

My temp fix was to FTP into my account and disable the plugin by renaming the “bwp-recent-comments” folder in the plugin directory.

    Looking forward to a fix.

    Thanks!

My site also crashed. Even my WP admin page displaying blank. I have to restore to previous day on my hosting website. This is the 1st time I am restoring my site. @nugget142’s idea is better. I didn’t understand what happen 1st time. I did n’t even check the name of plugin while doing update. After restoring, I done update second time. Then only I knew is from BWP Recent comments plugin.

To solve this problem till the author correct it, go to: /wp-content/plugins/ and rename bwp-recent-comments to this bwp-recent-comments_

Problem will be fixed with no plugin, later when the author correct it, we rename again and make the update.

I have immediately uploaded a new version, please download it and replace the current one on your site.

I have just downloaded the new version and all is back to normal! Thank you very much for the timely response! I really appreciate it!

    A++

Will there be an update via the normal wordpress procedure or has this to be done manually?

In my case I continue with the same problem: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in …/bwp-recent-comments/includes/class-bwp-recent-comments.php on line 427

    When trying to activate.

You have an anonymous function and my hosting PHP server can’t work with it 🙁
