    Hi, I have 2 blogs: compelled2excel.com and musingsofateageek.com
I tested out the comment subscription feature on both by posting comments on my blog to see if I would receive email notifications. I did not, for both blogs. I have tried resetting to the wordpress 2013 theme and trying on that theme but it did not work. I have cleared cache but it did not work. Please help. I have been trying for 4 days. The test comments I were using were just short general comments and were marked as spam by akismet on one of the blogs. I unmarked it as spam and approved it. This doesn’t have anything to do with not receiving notifications does it?

If the comment is marked as spam, it won’t trigger any comment notification email. If it was approved, even after going through the moderation queue, it should trigger such an email.

I tried to leave 2 comments on your site, but both of them were marked as Spam, thus not allowing me to subscribe to comments. Do you use an anti-spam service on your site? If so, which one? Could you try to disable it, and then test comment subscriptions again?

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi Jeremy,

I have akismet installed on both blogs. I also have copied a list from google for comment moderation and comment blacklist that I have included in the empty fields in the “discussion” section.

I deactivated akismet and deleted the comment moderation and blacklist lists but were still not able to receive email notifications. I also noticed that on my musingsofateageek site, despite having the same spam parameters set as my other blog, here it marked more of my comments as spam whereas the other blog did not. Nevertheless, I am still not able to receive notifications.

    Hope you can help!

    Thanks,
    Judy

I’m guessing your comment blacklist was a bit too restrictive: I was now able to leave a comment, and it wasn’t marked as spam. I could consequently subscribe to comments.

Could you approve my comment? I will then try to leave another one, and see if I receive a notification.

    Thanks!

And I’ve receive all your test comments 🙂

Everything seems to work properly now. I would recommend that you turn Akismet back on, but keep your comment blacklist empty or only include a few terms there.

It’s not working for me. I’ve tested with Akismet off and nothing in blacklist. I’ve tested with 2 of my gmail accounts but not receiving anything.

I received more of your test comments yesterday evening. You might want to check your Spam folder in both Gmail accounts, to make sure that the notifications are not marked as Spam by Gmail.

I’m having the same issue. I’m not receiving any of the new posts from my blog. Have checked with some of the subscribers I know personally. Some are receiving. Some are not. Seems very random and not tied to any specific email address. Also have checked and asked others to check their spam folders (plus social/promotion/gmail folders).

    Nothing.

    Any suggestions?

Sorry. I forgot to mention my domain.
