Installed Point theme 1.0.5. on a pretty fresh WP 3.6.1. and wanted to paste the Google Analytics code into the Footer Code section (I saw on http://demo.mythemeshop.com/point/ that such a thing exists).

But there is no Footer Code box in my install. There is Header Code and then comes Copyrights Text in the General Settings. Has the Footer Code box been removed in this latest version?

I’m not sure, do you want to use a plugin that adds the analytics code to your page instead? If so, here’s one http://wordpress.org/plugins/googleanalytics/

Thanks, Andrew. On the twenty thirteen theme I have inserted the GA code with add_action(‘wp_footer’ in the functions.php of a child. But I don’t know if the Point theme will work with a child too (I read that “complicated” themes which have built-in customize menus can crash your site badly when you make and activate a child of them), so I thought using that Footer Code box would be very convenient and risk-free until I find out if the Point theme can work with childs too.

Hi, we have removed Footer analytics option in latest version because WordPress don’t allow this feature in themes.

add_action(‘wp_footer’ will work in point theme.

Our theme’s most of the functions are compatible with child themes, so you can give it a try. (Maybe on local server)
