• So I just installed the Google Analytics plugin but what next? I’m assuming I need to somehow notify GA that I have the plugin and am ready to start monitoring. I have GA on all my other websites but don’t remember the process for how to actually start monitoring my site analytics with my google account?

  • You have to go to your Google Analytics account and add that property to your account, then get your UA code and add it to the plugin.

Thanks Korvas. Where do I go to add my latest website URL to GA? I was just on my Google dashboard and couldn’t find the link that would allow me to add another website to my lineup.

While in Admin, go to the middle of the page and you will see “Property”

Below that there will be a dropdown area, click on it. At the bottom of the dropdown it will show the option “Create New Property”

You can just follow it from there to add a new site.

Excellent. I found it, added my new site, copied the GA code, went back to the Google Analytics plugin….

I couldn’t find anywhere to plug in the GA code or the UA #.

I was hoping that using the Google Analytics plugin would make this process a lot easier. Now I’m starting to wonder if it wouldn’t be just as easy to paste the code directly into my website. Any suggestions?

On the sidebar in your WordPress admin area, look at Settings. There should be an option for Google Analytics. That is where you paste in the code from your UA.

Thanks, Korvas. Thanks to you, I found it and put in the code. It should be smooth sailing from here!!
