  • That is not a redirect, #FSContact1 is a HTML Anchor tag that makes the page scroll to where your form is.
    Is there some problem?

Yes, would you please fill out the contact form on the home page, then you will see that it redirects away from the home page and doesn’t simply display the sent message.

This is a rare condition. To find the cause and fix it, I would need a temporary admin login to your WP. Are you able to let me do that?
Please contact me here, you do not have to donate

    Mike,

The forms on my client’s site were all great until the update a few days ago. Now, the redirect does NOT work. Originally there was no redirect, and it was doing the same thing as smmcats, where it redirects to this: #FSContact5 – and so I said ok and created a thank you page. It still redirects and says page cannot be found.

I have disabled the theme, didn’t work. I have used http in front of the url, doesn’t work.

Please help, because we are using several forms and either we need to fix this, or use a different plugin ;-(

    Nancy

I cannot duplicate the problem, so until someone lets me into their WP to test, I won’t be able to do anything.

You can try to temporarily deactivate all other plugins to determine if another plugin is the cause

    Mike,

I will send you the login to check my client’s site. We are OK with it.

    Nancy

Thanks Nancy, I will check this after work. I will reply with the cause and possible fix

    Mike

The problem Nancy is your WordPress is using all the available memory and fails, especially when posting the form.

I installed this plugin to see usage and available memory limit
Memory Load and db size Usage
    http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-memory-db-indicator/

It shows this in admin footer: Memory usage Mem 62.19 of 64M

64M is not enough memory for all the plugins you have

I see these errors in widgets in your dashboard

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 384 bytes) in ///wp-includes/SimplePie/Parser.php on line 73

Please speak to your web host about “increasing the default php memory limit”.

Maybe they can increase it to 128M

Let me know if that resolves the problem or not

    Mike

Thanks Mike. I removed the plugin and that seemed to fix alot of the quirky issues as far as formatting and such, but the redirect issue still persists. It also now shows memory of 50.57 after the form is submitted, on the ‘not found’ page.

I have put in a support ticket with Hostgator to request a PHP Memory increase.

    I will keep you posted.

    Nancy

Well it was upgraded to 256m, and we still get the same redirect error.

    db 14.863M ~ Mem 64.56 of 256MVersion 3.6.1

OK, I will log in tonight and take another look if that is OK?

    Yes, please πŸ˜‰

I have the exact same problem on my site: http://tineathome.com/about/
Has anyone found out how to delete the anchor tag?

    same here … http://industrialfiberglass.net/quote-request/
It was not happening when I first set up, nor on our other site http://qualitymetaldecking.com/request-a-quote2/ , but now both are. It seems to hover on the redirect page for a few seconds, then (sometimes) continues on the home page, AND sends the form. Other times, it just sits on the redirect, and does not send the form. We use Bluehost … I don’t know what our memory size is … I don’t think we have a lot going on w/either of these sites (memory wise), but what do I know!
