• First, the need for this plugin is huge and I really want it to work. It has two strikes against it.

    1) Most serious is that it screws up custom menus (which should not be a part of the plugin’s process at all). It will take content from one menu and add it to another, and the same in reverse. The testing I did to isolate the problem involved stripping everything out of my site, deactivating all plugins and then reactivating them one-by-one, testing the menus.

    2) The plugin is overly complex, with interwoven configuration elements. There needs to be a “lite” version of this that allows you to (a) define a role, (b) assign capabilities to a role, (c) assign those capabilities to a user and then (d) assign a user to a page (or other element). You can do this with Role Scoper, but the UX is obtuse.
