It WAS the best. Now it sucks.

Wow, rarely has a paid plugin gone over the cliff as badly as this one. Visual Form Builder Pro used to be the most flexible and easy-to-use plugin in the repository.

Sadly, it has become a train wreck, and it’s been this way most of 2015. I updated today to see if the most egregious problems were fixed and they are not. Just so you know what I miss (and what renders this plugin essentially useless to me)…

1) Conditional Logic used to be on a field-basis where, when editing the field, I could select “conditional logic” and apply logic that was pertinent to that field. For example, if I said “Show this field if REASON is ‘OTHER'” – it would actually give me a drop-down to select one of the values set by the field “REASON”.

Now I have to go to a separate tab and construct each and every condition from scratch (no longer context-oriented), AND I have to actually type in the word “OTHER”, and be sure that it is the correct string. OMG, how awful is THAT!

2) Grouping. There used to be this really great notion of a “section” that had no visible display but it grouped a bunch of controls. So I could put a SINGLE conditional on that section that would completely show or hide all of the fields there.

Section is now gone, so if I have 23 fields in a section, I need to construct 23 separate conditionals for it to work. See the suckiness of point 1 above as to why THAT’s no good.

Shaking my head in disbelief. This plugin was on a rocket to being the best out there. I suspect what happened is that a competitor bought it and intentionally trashed it. I can’t imagine that someone wanting to be a success would do such things.

It is just AWFUL. Find another plugin.
