Sidebar overlapping text

    Hi!

    I’m fairly new to WordPress, and just finished switching over the blog portion of my website. Everything was working fine until today when I started adding new sidebar widgets. Any time I have an active widget in the sidebar (“secondary area”) the post width increases, such that the sidebar covers some of the text. If I remove the widget, the sidebar disappears as it’s supposed to, and the text (oddly), shrinks in width to where it should be when the sidebar is active.

    I left one widget in the sidebar, to show what I mean by overlap.

    I’ve combed through all sorts of resources, but have had no luck.

    Any help for a noob?

    somehow caused by the styles of the ‘feedburner follow me’ plugin;
    http://nerdincognito.com/blog/wp-content/plugins/feedburner-follow-me/css/ffm-style.css?ver=1.0.0

    where did you get that plugin from?

    as this does not seem to be from http://wordpress.org/plugins/, please contact the plugin’s developer for support.

    The plugin was just one that I found searching within my wordpress dashboard; it was one of a few that came up.

    I’ve deleted the plugin, and while that didn’t solve the problem immediately, I overwrote my child style.css with a back-up copy and the problem seems to be fixed.

    Rather than bother going through the developer, I’ll just select a different plugin to use; it’s not worth the effort to me to accommodate someone’s code when I basically pulled it out of a hat. I’ll definitely be more careful in the future.
