   1) I can log in and edit posts--but it won't let me save them. Hit any SAVE button, it goes to
   http://www.deviantsynth.com/wp-admin/post.php
   and I get a blank screen. Nothing happens.

   2) each new post is full of spam links to this domain
   workingweek.thepodcastnetwork.com
   I can't delete them from posts. Won't save the edit.

   3) can't enter new posts -- nobody can, even the administrator. Same result as #1 above.

   4) Unable to edit, remove or change files and images.

   The blog is www.deviantsynth.com, any account has the same problems.

   Help?

   upgrade your wp yours is 2.2.2 current is 2.3.3

   created a dummy user....does the same to me..doh

   odd though that when I went to the write post screen it lagged for several seconds. I wonder if its a database problem.

   when you updated....were the files wp-admin/post.php & wp-admin/post-new.php uploaded/overwritten with new file?

   when you post something its supposed to pass along the id# of the newly created post as

   http://domain.com/wp-admin/post-new.php?posted=6

   which on my wp takes you back to the post-new.php

   Thank you for your suggestions. I have no idea if those PHP files were overwritten. Can't use FTP to examine them.

   Anyone? Any ideas at all???

   I'm having the same problem. Everything was fine until today, and now every time I hit Publish or try and update settings in Options, I just get a blank screen, as described above.

   I saw a weird thing in the nagivation, no page links were displayed except HOME. I login to the admin area and tried to re-edit Header.php. There I saw several spam links which I didn't enter at all. Also pages were deleted, instead they are included in my blog posts.

   I deleted old version 2.1.2 and installed new version 2.3.3 using Fantastico(Hostmonster). I thought it would be fine, but I still cannot edit or post any blog entries.

   Also the backed up database files seemed to be corrupt, it shows only 193 post after importing, the actual blog post are more than 400 entries. And the archives month has "0" archive as well which I don't know how to fix it.

   I think Wordpress has to be improved a lot. Please try to fix bugs as soon as possible.

   We finally fixed it. The only way is to restore the SQL database from an old backup. This is caused by an arcane SQL hack. Decoding the DB file is probably possible but a big job, for experts only!

   WP really needs to do something about this, other blog operators have had the same problem.

    I'm still investigating my own personal brand of the problem.

    I "fixed" it by deleting all of the files on my server and re-uploading everything. This worked, but is a major pain.

    So I'm guessing that my issue is different than savagebeautysound's, as I didn't do anything to the database.

    However, I saw the same problem again today. I checked through all of the files on my server and none of them have been updated, so perhaps this time it's the MySQL hack...
