You may have to look at the permissions/ownership settings for your image directory. If the PHP is_file() function can’t determine if the file exists, it won’t place a link to it. This can happen even if the image will display.

Thanks for the tip. I checked into that but both sites appear to be exactly the same in that regard. They are running on the same shared host and have the same setup/permissions. Both sites are nearly identical in fact in terms of theme and plugins being used. I’m scratching my head a bit and hunting for any possible difference or potentially conflicting plugin but nothing yet.
Well ruling out the obvious that you don’t have the “link image to fullsize” setting set, the only thing preventing the link from getting placed would be PHP’s inability to verify the file’s existence…so, I guess I’m not sure why this is happening.
