I’ll do some testing later today, it should work just fine. Are you sure you’re in the right settings (form / checkbox)?

Under ‘checkbox settings’, I have “Double opt-in?” set to ‘NO’ …
I found a second setting under ‘forms’…let me change that to ‘no’ and try it.

That seems to have been the problem…
    Sorry to have bothered you

    Hi Mech.

Yes, the plugin consists of two main parts, sign-up checkboxes (at your comment form, contact form, registration form etc..) and sign-up forms (wherever you want them). The settings are split-up.

I’ll try to make that more clear in future versions of the plugin. Let me know how this worked for you! 🙂

That makes sense – maybe just move the more ‘important’ form options above the text box for editing forms? I just didn’t notice all the settings down there…

    Thanks again for the help!
(oh! I updated my review to show it works great with wp 3.6.1 as well)

Great! Thank you mech, much appreciated.

Thanks for the input, I have been thinking about ways to improve the settings screen and to make things more simple for regular users while still keeping it customizable for more advanced users. Will get to it in one of the next few updates!

If Double Opt-in is set to NO, Mailchimp is NOT going to send me a new subsriber mail, do you know how to get informed by a mail anyhow?
