Which one is better / safer / SE optimized etc:
Google (XML) Sitemaps Generator for WordPress
BY http://www.arnebrachhold.de
OR
Sitemap Generator Plugin for Wordpress
BY http://www.dagondesign.com
I am using version 2.3.3
I have downloaded both and wanted to know which one gives less problems and give the best site map for humans and SEs .
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I saw this post by musho
"I've installed it only on one blog but used this plugin:
http://www.arnebrachhold.de/projects/wordpress-plugins/google-xml-sitemaps-generator/"
Has it been working ok ?
Is it a better choice than the http://www.dagondesign.com ?
Does anyone have any feedback on sitemap plugins etc ?
Thanks

Any feedback ?
anyone ???
You're comparing apples to oranges. Arne's plugin creates an XML-based sitemap which really is for the benefit of spiders while the other renders a human friendly version.

Thanks for your input.
If no-one says anything, how would I know ?
So does that mean that I should use both generators so that both types get updated ?
It would be nice if some of the experienced ones spoke up and gave me some advice on this.
Thanks again LenK for pointing that out.
Do you use both ?
What you use is really up to you. There's no right or wrong answer to your question. If you want a sitemap, use one or the other or both. Neither is required or anything.
You have to have an end-goal in mind before you can decide how to achieve that end-goal.
I use both. They serve different purposes and compliment each other well.

use an xml sitemap to help you publicise your site to search engines (one of many things you can do) and use the DD sitemap to create a readable map for visitors to your site to see your contents at a glance
It doesn't look like there is much need to install both plugins, as the Dagon Design one outputs a human-readable map, as well as having a link at its foot to the XML equivalent which can be used to submit to google etc.
My apologies, re my post above - having actually looked at it, DD will output an xml link that you specify - so you would need both plugins. Well, I'm tired...
