Temporary URL

    I’ve been reviewing the posts as I am preparing to start a build using a temporary URL so the the old site will stay live while I work. When we launch the database won’t change the the URL. I know I need to follow the instructions here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress

    I just wanted to ask if there is anything I should take care with or avoid? Should I wait until after the URL is switched to use pretty permalinks? Things like this is what I’m wondering.

    Any advise is appreciated!
