   New to WP here. When pasting content from Mac's Mail (and other modern text editors) the underlying code for text formatting remains.

   This is good because embedded hyperlinks are retained.

   What's bad is the unneeded and conflicting text format tags. Is there a way in WP's editor to quickly strip text formatting while leaving HREF tags alone?

   The "use a different editor" answer is stipulated. Trying to keep things streamlined here.

   if you want to leave some and delete others, all you can really do is switch to the 'code' tab in the editor and delete whatever formatting you dont want. if you paste it in the code tab to begin with, the formatting probably wont be there.
