Cannot update plugins, core etc. inside WordPress

    Hello!

    I am having problems with WordPress connecting to external servers. On dasboard rss shows “Connect() timed out”. I cannot update plugins or search for them.

    I downloaded a plugin called Core Control via FTP and found out that my cURL is installed on server but the test run fails with error message “Connect() timed out”.

    Is this a server error for certain or can I do something about this? I am trying to move this new site to a new server for publishing, and on the old server everything worked as expected.

    Contact your host. They will surely resolve this quickly.

    I did that and found out that they don’t support cURL for security reasons. Now, they try to find out a different solution but I doubt they succeed.

    If I find a solution that works I let you know…
