    Also tried style="padding-bottom:50px"

    PS: I bought the grey fade addon, lovely – thank you.

    You need to specify what to apply the styles to 😉

    Something like:
    .synved-social-button { margin-bottom: 40px; }

    also:

    .synved-social-button { padding-bottom: 40px; }

    Nothing changes

    This is what shows in the source:

    <a class="synved-social-button synved-social-button-share synved-social-size-24 synved-social-resolution-single synved-social-provider-twitter synved-social-grey synved-social-fade" data-provider="twitter" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" title="Share on Twitter" href="http://twitter.com/share?url=http%3A%2F%2Fexample.com%2F&text=Hey%20check%20this%20out" style="font-size: 0px; width:24px;height:24px;margin:0;margin-bottom:5px;margin-right:5px;"><img alt="twitter" title="Share on Twitter" class="synved-share-image synved-social-image synved-social-image-share" width="24" height="24" style="display: inline; width:24px;height:24px; margin: 0; padding: 0; border: none; box-shadow: none;" src="http://example.com/wp-content/plugins/social-media-feather/synved-social/image/social/regular/48x48/twitter.png"></a>

    Unfortunately this depends a lot on the theme your are using and the layout of the page, so you might have to experiment.
