Categories not displaying

    Hey,

    Having logged into my WP site dashboard this morning I have noticed that my CATEGORIES aren’t displaying and subsequently this is affecting numerous things in relation to my site. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

    As you can see, it says there are 22 Categories, but they aren’t visible. Can anyone shed some light on the issue please? My site is: http://www.tinmanlondon.com

    Have you developed some kind of membership system on the site or edited the various roles? It looks like your own user role may no longer have the ability to manage categories.

    Hello Caramboo,

    Nope, I have’nt done that. I’m the only admin on the account. I don’t have any user role plugin installed either. Any other ideas?

    Create a temporary user with admin level abilities, switch to that user and see if it makes a difference. If not, install something like the members plugin to examine each role’s abilities.

    I might be barking up the wrong tree here but it’s where I’d start. After that I’d be looking at restoring a backup DB. If you don’t make regular backups start today 🙂

    I have the same problem Tinmanlondon. My categories disappeared, then caused problems with my site’s theme. The theme editor told me it was not his theme’s fault it is on the WordPress side.

    I’ve been told from my web host that its a hosting issue…An error with a specific database in which the categories are located in. Who’s your host Backpackingdiplomacy???
