Facebook head tags, fb:admins…… missing

Hi guys,

When using the debugger tool for Facebook it tells me my pages

fb:admins and fb:app_id tags are missing. These tags are necessary for Facebook to render a News Feed story that generates a high click-through rate.

I’ve seen this mentioned in a few threads. One or two were just closed with no answer. A couple talked about various things that just went over my head.

In the ‘social’ section of the Yoast plugin I have connected a Facebook profile. I thought that this must at least relate to the fb:admins tag , but even though I’m connected, this tag doesn’t show in my header.

Can someone please give a layman’s breakdown of what these tags actually do, whether Yoast SEO plugin is supposed to be inserting them or not and whether there is something else I should be doing?

There’s no clear answer out there that I can find and understand.
