• I’m using a Twenty Twelve child theme and created a custom front page template which places Cyclone Slider 2 below the menu but just above the page content. The drop-down menu runs behind the slider. Enough of the first item shows above the slider to allow someone to go there, but if someone wanted the second item, they’d have to visit any other page to get the full menu.

    Here’s my entire custom page template:

    <?php
    /**
     * Template Name: Front

     * The template for displaying all pages.
     *
     * This is the template that displays all pages by default.
     * Please note that this is the WordPress construct of pages
     * and that other 'pages' on your WordPress site will use a
     * different template.
     *
     * @package WordPress
     * @subpackage Twenty_Twelve
     * @since Twenty Twelve 1.0
     */

    get_header(); ?>

    	<div id="primary" class="site-content">
    		<div id="content" role="main">
            <?php if( function_exists('cyclone_slider') ) cyclone_slider('front-page-slide-show'); ?>

    			<?php while ( have_posts() ) : the_post(); ?>
    				<?php get_template_part( 'content', 'page' ); ?>
    				<?php comments_template( '', true ); ?>
    			<?php endwhile; // end of the loop. ?>

    		</div><!-- #content -->
    	</div><!-- #primary -->

    <?php get_sidebar(); ?>
    <?php get_footer(); ?>
