• Okay, my blog just recently started getting ‘Error 500 – Internal server error’ just about everywhere. When someone posts a comment it throws a 500, even though the comment still posts. When I write a post the same thing happens, even though the post still goes through.
When I try to moderate drafts or comments, it’s giving an Error 500 AND the changes are not going through.

Also, I’m not getting the comment moderation emails I usually get.

I’m hosted on 1and1 (I know, you hate it), so the problem might be with them, but this amount of errors and what not, makes it thinking it has something to do with my wordpress code. Any ideas?

  • Error 500 is a pretty generic error. Have you checked your error logs to see what they say? Does this occur with the default theme? Are you using any plugins? If so, disable them all then activate one by one and test between.

I was having the same problem last night with 1and1; don’t know why. I called their tech support and just told them I was getting Error 500’s and the tech fixed it within minutes. Don’t know what he did.

    elcafequemado,

Just called them? I’ll have to try that.
