At present this extension uses wp_mail() only – it doesn’t send through mailchimp.

Alerts use a simple plain text template. See screenshot here; http://mikejolley.com/projects/wp-job-manager/add-ons/job-alerts/

I know mailchimp can manage mailing lists, but I don’t think the plugin can send content?

hi mike, for some reason, the job alert addon is not firing alerts. i tried using the regular wp cron job out of the box, but when it didnt trigger due to my site being low volume at this point, i changed it to a real cron job: wget -O /dev/null http://website.com/wp/wp-cron.php?doing_wp_cron. In my wp-config.php file I have tried inserting define( ‘DISABLE_WP_CRON’, true ); and i tried removing removing it – both ways – in either case no alerts have been triggered

any ideas tp get this plugin to work?

I’ve managed to solve the problem with

    1. Gravity Forms Application Form
    2. Job Post Category Rss
    3. Mailchimp Gravity Form Addon
    4. Category Lists in Mailchimp
    5. If\then function of gravity forms.

    Ok Sorry Jan.

    Here it is:

1.I made a gravity forms Form where users apply to jobs and made it the default “apply-method”.

    2. In the form I put a field called “category” or “region” where user set their preferences (that will be used as Newsletter Preferences).

    3. I set in the Mailchimp Account (website mailchimp.com) 10-12 different lists based on every category.

    4. I installed the gravity forms mailchimp addon and made it collect data from the “application form” set before.
4a. I created a new “Mailchimp Feed” for every category and set an opt-in condition that every list must match specific category.

    5. Back to Mailchimp Website I created RSS Driven Campaigns based on category based RSS Url (you can find exact rss category url for WP JOB Manager in another discussion).

If you don’t need category based campaigns it will be much easier.

    Someone recommended me ttp://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-better-emails/
