    There is language in the Subscribe2 plugin about an unsubscribe feature but I can’t find it anywhere and people receiving an email with word of my latest blog post are not provided with a link or anything to unsubscribe.

    How do I enable this feature and allow people to unsubscribe?

  • @bfried2723,

    The form for Public subscribers should have an “Unsubscribe” button unless you have hidden it. If you have hidden it you need to put the form on another page to handle the requests.

    Registered Subscribers need to visit their profile subscriptions page and uncheck all categories.

    @mattyrob,

    At the risk of asking a stupid question, I’m wondering about the form for Public subscribers and the registered subscribers profile. When people subscribe to my blog with your plugin, they get an email that notifies them that I have published a new post. There isn’t a link to a profiles subscription page or any mention of one in the email. There also isn’t an “Unsubscribe” button and when I looked through the plugin settings yesterday I didn’t see any mention of a button or anything that I could have hidden. All I have to work with are the email templates. I think I need some additional guidance from you. Thanks.

    @bfried2723,

    Subscribe2 supports 2 different subscriber types, this is explained more in the FAQs where it says “I’m confused, what are all the different types of subscriber?”.

    Once people are subscribed to your blog they get an email but how do they subscribe in the first place? Do they just supply an email? Or do they create a username and password? The former of these makes them a Public Subscriber while the latter become Registered (and that’s a core part of WordPress too, not something only in Subscribe2).

    If this is Public Subscribers then in the same place they put their email address and clicked “Subscribe” they should be able to click “Unsubscribe” too.

    For further discussion a link to your site and more details about your settings would be useful.

    Thanks @mattyrob. I think you’ve now cleared it up for me. One last question though. If to subscribe to my blog all I have is the box asking for an email address, do I still need to have the “New Page” set up that is discussed in the installation instructions?

    @bfried2723,

    I would still recommend creating a page and then you can add a link to that page to your email template so your users have an easy link to change their subscription.

    Thanks – I was thinking of that too. I appreciate your help with all this.
