I would like to create a new network site with WordPress to replace my existing business website.

I require classified adverts and a business directory, which I cam buy as a bundle of two different child-themes: ‘TwinPress Directory‘ and ‘TwinPress Classifieds‘

I would also like to add a Gorilla Theme called main street for property sales and also another theme for rentals. I understand I should be able to do using a wordpress multi site network.

I have all of these section on my existing site, but it is getting old and was custom built for the previous owner so cost me a lot of money every time I make changes to it. I

I see that the separate themes have their own tab at the top of the page so navigating between each section should be quite clear as I want to use path based network and not a domain network.

I would like a main landing page, could this be a page in one of the themes or do I need to install it all on another theme. I only run a personal website on WordPress.com I do not have a wordpress.org site which I understand I require.

Any advise and suggestions most welcome, as I am still in the very early planning stage.

The landing page is per SITE.

Do what you want, it’s each it’s own WordPress site. I don’t understand what’s stopping you here, or what’s a Multisite problem.

You have a site, design it how you want 🙂

Hi Mika, thanks for your reply.

I will probably work it once I get started, but I just wanted to work it out in my head before I jumped in feet first like I normally do.

I have a site www. mysite.com which has all the elements navigated from the main landing page. When I create the new site I want it to look like one site, so I wanted my domain www. mysite.com to have a main landing page as there are many links from the past that go directly to www. mysite.com. This is for property, classified, or directory leads.

I do not want sub domains i,e, property @ mysite.com or classifieds @ mysite.com so they will be path linked with a taps at the top of my landing page. In this way all my old links will go directly to the landing menu page. If I have say the twinpress directory as my main page then even though the taps for property etc would be at the top, it would mainly look like a classified site when people landed there from the old links. So although they are separate wordpress sites I want them to look like one.

I hope you see what I am getting at, or maybe I am complicating it, but before I buy all the elements I do want to make sure it will work how I want it to.

    Okay… so link them.

Seriously. They’re separate sites. If you want to link them, you have to do it manually. If you don’t? Don’t.

    You’re overthinking links 🙂
