I agree that you need something in the header to “pop” a bit more and grab attention. I think a snappy little header graphic would do the trick.
Otherwise, I like the layout of your site. The only criticism I would add (and many would disagree with me) is that I am not a fan of true white backgrounds — I think they make reading difficult and are hard on the eyes. But those are just my thoughts.

I really like the look and feel, and agree, you need a snazzy logo or graphic.
Side note: you probably meant for the “Recent Post” heading in your sidebar to read: “Recent Posts”?

Lawvol actually put together some nice graphics for the site. I’m by no means done modding the wp design, but the header graphics are a big step in the right direction.
