WP still removes and when told to Stop

Perhaps it is the Elegant Theme I inherited. Perhaps it is the columnar shortcode I am trying to impose (two columns in an address directory)

All I want to do is have a company’s address nested below its name. When using the column shortcode the
line feeds turn into spaces. I had so much hope that this would be the solution I sought.
