  • Yes it can. At its simplest, you can do the following:

Go to Customiz’it! > Front Page
Front Page can point to either a Static Page or your Latest Posts. So there are a few combinations that can be set (Home & Blog refer to Pages):
    1) Front page displays: Don’t show any posts or page
    2) Front page displays: your latest posts =Displays posts
    3) Front page displays: A static Page
    Posts page: –Select–
    Front page: –Select– =Displays posts
    4) Front page displays: A static Page
    Posts page: –Select–
Front page: Home =Displays static page
    5) Front page displays: A static Page
    Posts page: Blog
    Front page: –Select– =Displays posts
    6) Front page displays: A static Page
    Posts page: Blog
Front page: Home =Displays static page

Options 5 or 6 are probably what you’re looking fo.

    @bandysc

If I understand correctly, you are trying to place a post in one of the three ‘Featured Pages’ spots on the Front Page, correct?

I was looking for the same answer and have come up with a work around. You’ll need to install the Display Posts Shortcode Plugin. Edit this plugin to not display the post title otherwise it’ll show up twice. Read here to learn how to remove the title.

Create a new blank page and title it the same as the blog post you want to feature. This is how the post will be titled on the front page.

In the editor use this code [display-posts id="##" include_content="true" wrapper="div"].

Replace ## with your post id. The include_content will show the entire post rather than an excerpt, and the wrapper=div gets rid of the leading – or number from the ul/ol options.

Set a featured image on this page the same as the featured image on your blog post (270x250px).

I’m currently using this workaround on my photography site http://www.daedalusphotography.ca

    Best of luck,

    Andrew

I’m looking to do the same thing as Andrew describes above…

to have the option to choose 3 blog posts to display across the top (rather than pages) on a static front page.

Andrew’s solution may work, however it seems like it would require more work than necessary and result in duplicate content.

Is there css code available to modify the theme to allow this?

    Thanks.

Did you look at Nic’s extension, FPU? Latest version does what you want & more

@rdell … thanks for posting that … I fall more in love with this Customizr Theme everyday, and now that love is embracing Themes & Co. as well. B
