Someone emailed stating they needed a password to leave a comment on one of my posts.

How do I change the need to enter a password before a user can enter a comment?

Not sure how this new requirement was tripped!

    Thanks

  • Is this a wordpress.com site or a self-hosted WordPress install?

Not sure what you are asking /-:

I’m guessing it is a WP.com site using Thesis (rickdiffleyphotography.com).

    Actually it’s a self-hosted WordPress install. 🙂

Navigate to Settings -> Discussion and uncheck “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” – then save your changes.

Thanks, but when I checked, that option is already unchecked.

Have you tried logging out and commenting on one of your own Posts? I cannot see anything on the site that indicates a requirement to be logged in before you an comment.

Here is what a got and I think I now know how to fix it!

“Click back and type in the correct password. (Spam Free WordPress)”

    Thanks for your help!!

    Yep – that’s a plugin! 🙂
