I've recently volunteered to redesign my High School's (I'm a teacher, not a student) website.
I have some basic understanding of WordPress (see www.affectedclapping.net for my personal project), but this is going to be much, much larger.
First and foremost, I'm building a new theme, one that is page-centric rather than post-centric. There will be an opening flash page, and lots of embedded video of students and parents.
I'm in the process of sketching out what the design is going to look like, and I have the Wordpress for dummies. But here's two questions:
1. What's the best "way" of developing a new theme for Wordpress, keeping in mind my programming skills are weak (Dreamweaver?)
