I was having a problem with this plugin that it kept adding to the cookie a seemingly random post.

the problem is firefox pre-loading the next post

To solve this problem add this to functions.php:
```
remove_action('wp_head', 'adjacent_posts_rel_link_wp_head');
```
Worked for me.
