Hi @beheard
Please look at video 14 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Alfb4_TOFiA&list=PLV1BcivFAIduTUJfnzcGUf0B_9UMlNy0v
It’s possible to create an Etsy style setup if you want each user to have their own store, you can also get a percentage of each sale automatically.
If you want each user to be able to just login to the main store and sell their products there, then this is currently only possible by them signing up and you giving them access. All payments would go to your PayPal account and you’d have to manually send the payments on.
Thanks Mike.
I did have a look previously and unfortunately still cannot ascertain
Please advise
1 – with the “etsy” style setup each new store is actually a store on their own websites..
ie: each store owner is simply linking their own store to the main site??
or is each store created from our site meaning we can have control over the way each store looks…
We do not want each store looking totally different to the other..
2 – Chain payments – Mulitsite meaning that each store has to be its own WPress store.. or are they subdomains of ours?
3 – If its the global setup do you mean..
Signing up as in giving them WP admin access to upload their own products??
I understand the manual payment commission and was trying to avoid this..
Hi There,
Basically the Esty style store referred to in the video is a multisite, so each store would be either a subfolder or subdomain depending on the way you configured the multisite installation.
You could use our new blogs template plugin to create the style and look of each store that’s generated for new members of your network. Then use a plugin like Advanced Access Manager To restrict access to the themes section of wp-admin so they couldn’t change the style of the shop.
Following this method you could use PayPals adaptive payments (new name for chained payments) so that the payments to both you and the member would be fully automatic.
Cheers
Would a theme like “network” do what we are looking for..]
Apologies for so many questions have spent literally weeks trawling and listening..
Project needs to commence now and want to be certain we are at least capable of the end result without endless plugins and headaches..
AAManager above appears to no longer be compatible..with current WP..
Will you folks be integrating a restrict access feature
(I think this would be a practicle business case for many users..)
Are you aware of any issues with Bulletproof security and your marketplace etc?
If so how do you handle security issues is there inbuilt features?

Hi,
Any theme should work, MarketPress just uses custom post types so should work on any theme.
I’m afraid I don’t know if a restrict access feature is planned, how do you see this working?
I’m not aware of any issues with BPS and MarketPress but I haven’t used them together myself.
I like Wordfence is seems to not cause any problems but offer great security.
