    Hi Carlos,

The plugin adds a widget you can use via Appearances > Widgets in your dashboard. Simply navigate to the widgets panel here and you’ll see that the SSRP widget is available alongside the rest of the widgets.

As for the shortcode, this is something I’m working on and would like to have out in the next version soon. Are there other features you would like to see?

    Thanks!

hi mickey. ok so its widget only – i understand.

with features – and the shortode -just make it so you can place any category or number of categories into a page – using a thumbnail and snippet with post title and hyperlink.

    as far as other features.

i guess a auto or manual rotater to scroll through would be cool 😉

maybe even some sort of stats that show how many and which posts are being clicked on to see how clicks are, etc.

    Hi,

I just installed the plug-in and it seems its exactly what I was looking for for our website.I installed everything and set up the widget, but unfortunately it always shows “no posts”.
I was trying to use the plugin for our company website to link similar products over categories. Can I only use it for posts, not for pages? I was hoping to link pages via the CMS Navigation, but it doesnt seem to work.

Do you have any advice for me?

    Thank you,
    Sarah

    Hi Sarah,

Sorry to hear the plugin isn’t working for you as expected. To answer your questions. . .

The plugin can display any post type (posts, pages, & custom post types), so that shouldn’t be the problem.

    My suspicion is that either:
    1. You haven’t configured your widget correctly – are you sure you’ve chosen the correct taxonomy by which to display related posts?
    2. Your posts/pages aren’t actually related. Do they all share a tag/category/taxonomy? For the widget to display anything, your posts must share a common categorization.

If you’re fairly certain that neither of these is the issue, can I ask you to send me a screen shot of your widget configuration and possibly two posts that are related but aren’t appearing? We’ll get this sorted.

    Thanks!

Shortcode added in version 1.2! Also the ability to hide the widget/shortcode title. As for thumbnail/snippet/etc, I may add this at a later date, however for now there are several other plugins that incorporate these features and I’m attempting to keep things simple. Thanks for the input though!

Hi, what a great plugin, I’m quite happy with it!

It would be great if it (optionally) could show the current taxonomy term in the title, and also an optional prefix. So, if the current (custom) taxonomy term is ‘Spain’ and the the prefix is ‘Hotels in’, the title will be ‘Hotels in Spain’.

    Hi there,

Thanks for your patience. You’re spot on – that’s why I made sure to include a bunch of filters you can use for exactly this kind of thing. They are all listed at the very bottom of the main plugin page: http://wordpress.org/plugins/super-simple-related-posts/

You should be able to use ssrp_taxonomy_term_heading( $taxonomy_term_name, $taxonomy_term_object ) for the example you mentioned.

Let me know if you need further assistance. All the best!
