    Hi Peter,

Sorry you are having problems. I changed a huge amount of code in the last update, so there is always a chance there are rare usage cases which slip through. I am sure we can get it resolved.

It looks like the Tweet containers were printed but nothing else, which should not be possible. If no Tweets are shown, the outcome should be one of two error messages.

I will have a look through the code in the morning and see if there is a break/hole which allows this situation to happen. In the mean time does the plugin options page show any errors in the error log?

hi I have same problem on mysite kyusoku bihaku, I have already tried to fix the problem to no avail, I finally disable it 😀

    Hi kbjogja,

I am very sorry you had problems too. I will make sure I find and fix the problem you both have had.

Just to check, did you both have problems with the latest version released today? Version 0.9.x?

Thanks, Peter. I appreciate the super-quick reply 🙂 Hopefully you’ll be able to fix the problems since the plugin is great (it worked when I first installed it a while back). And I love that you don’t have to through the steps many other Twitter plugins require (setting up an app, etc.)

    Thanks,
    Peter

    Hi Peter,

Sorry for the slow reply, I have been working hard reviewing all the changes I made in the last major patch and trying to reproduce a case where the container can be output but no Tweets OR error messages.

Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this situation. There should always either be Tweets or an error message.

I have made a debug version of the plugin which will send me an email with the contents of the Tweet data inside the Widget and Shortcode. This will tell me if there is anything unexpected there. If you don’t mind installing this it would be very helpful: Kebo Twitter Feed – Debug Version

You can install the plugin from the .zip file linked, by going to the Plugins screen inside WordPress, clicking ‘Add New’ and then ‘Upload’.

    Thanks, Peter!

I will install the debug version now.

I first installed your plugin about a week or so ago and it worked fine. But I had accidently linked it to my personal Twitter account, so I changed it to my company account and then I got the error that some other users were dealing with last week (something like “date in unexpected format”). After your patch, the error message went away but was substitutued by the blank container. Just mentioning this in case it may help you 🙂

Thanks again for your quick support! You are a lot faster than any other plugin manager I have seen so thumbs up 🙂

    Hi Peter,

It sounds like it is probably related to the same issue then, which is character encoding (Unicode Characters). I still do not understand how the plugin could print the container but no tweets or error message, but if you can install the debug version that will give me all the information I should need.

I am really dissapointed that so many people have had problems related to this issue, I will continue working on it until everyone can simply install the plugin and it work.

Thank you for your support and kind words!

    Hi Peter,

I installed the debug version yesterday. Is there anything else I need to do, or did you receive the debug info through the plugin?

    Cheers,
    Peter

    Hi Peter,

Ah okay, then we have another problem, as I have not received any emails. I have that particular debug version running on a few other people’s sites and I am receiving emails from them. This probably means that PHP’s mail function has been disabled on your hosting.

Can I ask who your webhost is? And could I ask for the Twitter account in question? I can make copies of the Tweets and test it myself.

    I’m with Bluehost.

The Twitter account is Punchline Comms,

    Hope that helps 🙂

    Hi Peter,

That is brilliant thank you. I know of others using BlueHost successfully so there should not be a problem there. I will have a look through the Tweets and add them to my test account to see if I can reproduce your problem. Thank you for letting me know so fast!

    Problem identified!

Your account has 5 Tweets all of which are Re-Tweets. Currently the plugin does not collect Re-Tweets from Twitter, but this is on my list to work on now.

You have identified that we do not adequately deal with the situation of there being no Tweets to display. I will update today so that we make it clear that we have no valid Tweets to output.

The plugin collecting and showing Re-Tweets should be added in the next few days, especially since I do not need to worry about character encoding issues anymore it seems!

Sorry I did not pick up on this earlier and that the plugin did not deal with this situation in a more graceful way. I will make sure future users do not have the same confusion.

Peter, no need to apologize! It’s a tricky one since probably very few accounts only have re-tweets! 🙂 I’m glad you identified it and thanks a lot for your great help!

    Cheers,
    Peter
