  • Hi andreas.gst, I’m not currently seeing the translator placed on your site, can you verify that the call to the shortcode has been placed? Then I should be able to help. Thanks!

Ok, I see the translator in your sidebar now. But considering that you have placed the code in your sidebar, you will not be able to load the translator in your header at the same time. Google does not allow this to happen. So you will likely need to choose one single location for the translator.

    I hope that helps you!

Hi. Thank you for your fast reply. I have now deleted the code from my side widget, and I tried to add this code “<?php echo do_shortcode(‘[google-translator]’); ?> to my header. I putted the code in “theme setting” – “Custom Scripts” under “Embeds to header.php ↓” in the Responsive theme. But still I can´t see the translator in the header of my site. I would be most grateful for any help to solve this.

Hi andreas.gst, it sounds like “Custom Scripts” would be meant for Javascript, not necessarily shortcodes. That might be why it’s not showing, I’m 80% sure of this. You can only copy/paste the translator code into the header.php file itself.

Would you like me to take a look and fix for you?

I have helped numerous others if you would feel comfortable, send me info at my contact page here:

It´s a little bit strange, because the heading of Customs scripts are “Embeds to header.php ↓” so it seams that it´s php language that should be written there.

Yes, I can see how you come to that conclusion. I just looked at your source code, and it’s inserting the actual code into the theme instead of processing it, which means you cannot place it there. You will need to use a PHP file, regardless of where it’s placed, but most likely header.php

    Hi andreas.gst,

Please let me know if you are able to get the translator working. I see that you inserted the translator through the theme in the incorrect. I can help you fix this if needed. I can give you clear instructions without me having to login. Thanks!

Hi andreas.gst, any new updates regarding your website issues with Google Language Translator? I want to make sure your issues are solved.

Please let me know if I can help.

    Thanks, Rob

I’m closing this topic as resolved since it has been one month since hearing back on this – please continue to post here if you have any updates.
