Twitter Down, Breaks Twitter Tools

    Hi,
    Twitter.com is down, as such twitter-tools cannot connect and my website is running really slow… even alex kings website has this error on it …
    Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to twitter.com:80 (Connection timed out) in /home/alexking/public_html/wp/wp-includes/class-snoopy.php on line 1150
    Is it possible to get twitter-tools to “sleep” for an hour or so to allow the issue to get resolved?

    Not only that, but Twitter seems to be down a lot.

    I noticed the same slowdown on my website this week, and traced it to the Twitter Tools plug-in – once I disabled it, the site was back up to speed. I think Twitter was still up (I never saw the fsockopen error), but responding slow.

    A sleep or throttle functionality would be great!
