    Dear,

we have installed BPS a while ago, because someone recommended it.

There was an error message saying something about saving creating htaccess file, but honestly we don’t know at all what this is and what to do.

The website http://www.fmm-magazin-specials.de is not reachable anymore.

And also when we are logged in, click anywhere there appears:
    Forbidden
you don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/wp-admin.php on this server
    .

We know, we probably created the problem by ourselves, but cannot change this now. Can you help please??

    Besdt regards,
    Petra

The most likely cause is that your Host does not allow you to lock your root .htaccess file with 404 file permissions.

    Do this first:
FTP to your website and change the file permissions of the root .htaccess file to 644 permissions. If the site comes back up then go to the htaccess File Editor tab page and click on the Turn Off AutoLock button so that your root .htaccess will NOT be locked ever again.

If the problem is still occurring then delete the root .htaccess file and the wp-admin .htaccess file, log back into your site, go to the BPS System Info tab page and post this information about your website below:

Thanks for replay so fast! Our solution was to restore all the content on the webserver from backup system. Now, all functions are back. But, in our WordPress Dashboard is still this message: “BPS Alert! Your site does not appear to be protected by BulletProof Security. Go to the Security Modes page and click the Create secure.htaccess File AutoMagic button and Activate Root Folder BulletProof Mode.”

When we implement the instructions, we got the same error message: “Forbidden you don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/wp-admin.php on this server.”

    regards,
    Frank
