Everytime I go to the permalinks settings and try to change things from

    http://inkavalleytrek.com/sample-post/

to the custom structure of /%postname%/

I save it and it just switches back to the sample post option.

I have the .htaccess file in the root directory, it is writable and it has the code that is required. I’ve disabled all the plugins to see if one was causing the problem without success.

EDIT: Ok, I feel really silly. I didn’t realize that what I actually wanted was to put my post slug in the title as opposed to the post name itself, and that the post name is calling the same as the sample post would…..

  • But that’s it! If you change custom structure of /%postname%/ your permalink looks like http://inkavalleytrek.com/sample-post/.
Try clicking on other structures and you will see how the structure changes in the custom structure field.

Yes, I see it now… Thank you! I’m so annoyed that I overlooked such a simple thing. And now I realize that the post slug is the URL post name anyway, so my problem must be with qtranslate rather than WP.
