    The author has completely misunderstood the point of having a plugin to “automatically” add the featured image.

    His instructions state you have to open each post and save it so the plugin will assign the “Featured Image”. With that much effort, you might as well select the image while you have the post open.

    Avoid this plugin, it adds needless bloat to WordPress and does not perform any automatic tasks.

  • It sounds like while it may lack a bulk operation of existing posts, it would automatically select featured images of NEW posts for you. This is definitely an automatic and time-saving task.

    Hi awtx,

    This plugin is simple. He gets the first associated image of a post and it becomes an featured image.

    This action is run only when saving an article 😉
